Rhenus Office Systems broadens its position in France

In February, the Rhenus Group acquired the archiving division known as Vectura Archivage SAS from the logistics company Vectura. The French company specialises in the physical archiving of documents as well as file destruction. With the acquisition, Rhenus Office Systems is expanding its national coverage in France and offers customers a broader range of services.

Vectura Archivage, which is part of the company Vectura Logistique, has great expertise in the business of physical document storage. The company operates three sites, one in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône close to Paris and two in Portet-sur-Garonne close to Toulouse. Rhenus Office Systems, one of the leading service providers in the business of document and information management, is further strengthening its position in the Île-de-France region by acquiring the company, which was founded in 1975 – and is simultaneously extending its national coverage.

Rhenus Office Systems has arrived in the French market in 2018 and has been continually expanding its range of services ever since. This enables Rhenus to accompany its customers along the way of their transition from the physical- into the digital world. By taking over Vectura Archivage, Rhenus is also adding the secure destruction of files and data-carriers to its service portfolio and, as a result, Rhenus is able to provide its customers with a holistic document management solution.

Gerrit Merten, Head of International at Rhenus Office Systems, thanked the owner family Chiche for the consistently open and fair discussions. “With Vectura Archivage. we are acquiring a well-positioned company with an experienced team. We would like to build on this and continue to develop the company together.” The business will therefore be managed with accustomed quality levels, but it will be possible to offer customers additional value-added services in future.

Both Vectura Archivage and the Rhenus Group share similar values as family businesses. The sale of the archiving division to the Rhenus Group is therefore a logical step for the Chiche family. “The archiving business was something very dear to our father, Richard Chiche. It was therefore important for us to put this subsidiary in very good hands,” the brothers, Michel and David Chiche, emphasise. Following the divestment of the archiving division, Vectura will now concentrate on its real estate and logistics business.
