Rhenus will cooperate with Blue Water Shipping in future through its national Freight organisations in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and the Baltic States. Groupage freight services will primarily operate through the central Rhenus business sites in Hilden (Germany), Oldenzaal (Netherlands), Barcelona and Irun (Spain) during the initial phase. The main hubs for distributing the goods in Finland will be Blue Water Shipping’s distribution terminals in Helsinki and Turku on the country’s south-west coast.
“Blue Water Shipping is a highly motivated partner with an excellent knowledge of the market and extensive experience of distribution operations in Finland. We’d like to gradually increase the current customer base together so that we’re able to create the basis for additional regular services for groupage freight traffic to and from Finland,” says Tobias Volz, Head of Network Management in the Rhenus Freight Network.
“By using Rhenus Freight’s extensive network, we’ll manage to achieve even
higher utilisation rates for transport operations in both directions and expand our services to other European countries. We can offer our customers competitive prices and good services by providing combined departures,” says Erkki Valtonen, Managing Director at Blue Water Shipping.
