The Board of Directors expressed its satisfaction that, in Rhenus Alpina AG, it had found the ideal partner to ensure the long-term further development of the General Cargo business area. The 149 employees of the affected companies, 117 of whom are employed in Switzerland, will be integrated into Rhenus Alpina AG, where their existing employment conditions will be continued. No headcount reduction is planned.
The services offerings of Rhenus Alpina AG and the General Cargo area of the Loomis Group complement each other ideally. “This takeover will enable Rhenus Alpina AG to expand its spectrum of services further, as well as strengthen its market presence in attractive growth areas”, enthused Andreas Stöckli, CEO of Rhenus Alpina AG. The existing service spectrum of the acquired General Cargo units will be fully covered in the future too, and even expanded in certain areas in the medium term.
“We are pleased to have found in Rhenus Alpina AG a responsible partner with strong growth ambitions for the takeover of the General Cargo business. Our employees will be able to build on their high service quality and long-standing client relationships in this new environment”, commented Urs Röösli, President of Loomis International.
