"The business potential in the United States is enormous. The USA is one of the largest economies in the world and many of our customers are already operating here. As a company with global operations, it’s essential for us to have a strong network in the USA too. We’ve taken a further step with Chicago and we’ll continue to expand our network in the next few years too," says Tobias König, Managing Director of KOG Worldwide AG, giving the reasons for the third business site in the USA.
Colin D’Abreo, President of KOG Transport in the USA, adds, "There is great economic potential here in Chicago. About 9.6 million people live in the metropolitan area. At our new operations base, we will provide services in project logistics, break bulk cargo and overland, air and sea transport."
The major focus at KOG, which was combined with Rhenus Project Logistics in 2015, is on project business and the international transport of plant to destinations in the USA, Europe and Asia. The company has 21 subsidiaries in 18 different countries. All the KOG Group’s sites are certified in line with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System – as well as the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
