Transport by sea generally includes further transport segments, such as transport from the production site to the port and from the port to the recipient. Integrated supply chains are enabled through pre-carriage and on-carriage transport offering different transportation modes.
We integrate trucks, trains, barges and sea-going vessels to deliver reliable transport networks for your supply chain. Our pre-carriage and on-carriage solutions ensure seamless coordination between the first and last transport stages and the central shipping routes. During the development of tailor-made logistics concepts, we give special consideration to sustainable approaches and cost-efficient implementation.

Since ports are often located away from both the production site and the goods’ destination, pre-carriage and on-carriage transport makes it possible to move goods to and from areas without direct access to a port.
Based on the urgency or the nature of the freight, pre-carriage and on-carriage can be carried out using different means of transport, including trucks, trains and barges. This level of flexibility supports the optimization of transport routes and costs.
By coordinating the movement of goods before and after port arrival, pre-carriage and on-carriage transport supports the efficient use of port infrastructure and helps avoid congestion or bottlenecks.

Our port logistics and sea freight services allow us to transport your shipments reliably while providing customized logistics solutions.
In shipping, pre-carriage describes the initial transport stage in which goods are transported from their point of origin, for example a manufacturer’s site, supplier warehouse or other storage location, to the main port or terminal where the primary shipment starts.
Pre-carriage and on-carriage differ according to their position in the transportation process. Pre-carriage covers the initial movement of goods from the origin to the main port for shipping, whereas on-carriage refers to the final movement from the destination port to the receiving location. Pre-carriage establishes the connection between inland starting points and the primary shipping route, while on-carriage completes the shipment journey to its final destination.
Based on the origin and destination of your shipment, we utilize different means of transport, including road transport, sea transport and rail transport.
