Tobias Bartz has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Rhenus Group since April 2022.
Building on his vision of logistics as the operating system that keeps the world running, he has driven Rhenus commitment to leveraging its expertise not only to move goods but also to strengthen global connectivity and local economies. Under his leadership, Rhenus has expanded its international footprint, focusing on key growth regions such as Asia-Pacific, Central Asia, and Latin America.
Tobias Bartz began his career at Rhenus (IHG) in 2005 as a Management Trainee. Over the years, he held various leadership positions, including Head of Rhenus Freight Logistics in France and CEO of Rhenus Logistics in Spain. From 2015 to 2018, he led Rhenus Asia-Pacific and Rhenus Air & Ocean Global from Singapore and joined the Management Board as CEO of Rhenus Air & Ocean Global.
Furthermore, he serves on various boards of trustees and economic councils. Tobias Bartz holds a degree in Economics from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, specializing in International Business and Languages.
Gilles Jan Delarue has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a Member of the Rhenus Group Board of Management since September 2024.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, controlling, and international management, having held various leadership positions within the Rhenus Group. Under his financial leadership, Rhenus focuses on sustainable growth, process optimization, and long-term value creation across its global business units.
He began his career at Rhenus in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer and later served as Managing Director of Rhenus Freight Logistics in France. In 2015, he took on the role of Managing Director of Rhenus Beteiligungen International GmbH as well as Managing Director of Rhenus Assets & Services GmbH & Co. KG. Before joining Rhenus, he held several positions at SARIA Group, worked in controlling and financial management roles at Fielmann AG, and as a student assistant at the German Bundestag.
Gilles Jan Delarue holds a degree in Business Administration from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, specializing in Finance, Controlling, and International Management.
Dr. Joana Baetz has served as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of the Rhenus Group since 2022, and was appointed a Member of the Board of Management in February 2025, responsible for Human Resources, Sustainability and Compliance.
She has led the strategic development of her areas of responsibility into globally aligned Group Functions, focusing on digitalization, standardization, and business enablement. In her role as CHRO, she implemented a professionalized Group-wide HR organization, significantly drove the company’s cultural transformation and brought people management to the next level by introducing HR technology solutions, launching the first ever global employer brand, and global talent development programs – key initiatives that contribute to securing Rhenus long-term success.
Furthermore, Dr. Joana Baetz oversees the development of sustainable solutions for the Rhenus Group and ensures the Group’s commitment to the highest compliance standards worldwide. Bringing almost two decades of experience in the logistics sector, Dr. Baetz previously held several leadership roles within the Rhenus Group since 2018, including as Head of Global HR of the Air & Ocean Division. Prior, she joined Bolloré Logistics in 2007, going on to gather managerial experience at Logwin AG at the European and global level.
A graduate of Goethe University Frankfurt, she holds a doctorate with a focus on Human Resources and Organizational Development.
Jan Philipp Harnisch has served as a Member of the Rhenus Group Board of Management, responsible for the Air & Ocean Division, since February 2025, having led the Division since 2022.
With a strong international background and proven experience as a leader on the regional and global level, he played a pivotal role in the Division’s expansion into new international markets while driving operational excellence, digital transformation, and strategic growth.
His focus is on scaling Rhenus Air & Ocean’s position as a global top player in freight forwarding by accelerating its international footprint, increasing agility, and advancing customer-centric logistics solutions that drive long-term value. Based in Bangkok, he is also instrumental in furthering Rhenus efforts in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Jan Philipp Harnisch began his logistics career at OBC Express Logistics in 2010, before joining the Rhenus Group in 2012. Over his decade-long engagement with our Group, he has held several leadership positions, including as Managing Director in Japan and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Air & Ocean.
He holds degrees in International Business Management, and Mandarin Studies.
Dr. Marcus Ewig has served as a Member of the Rhenus Group Board of Management responsible for Automotive, Procurement, Health & Safety and Quality, since February 2025, having led the Automotive Division since 2017.
He brings a wealth of experience as an international leader with P&L responsibilities, combining deep technical expertise with strong business focus. At the Rhenus Group, his key achievements include leading the international expansion of Rhenus Automotive into China and the US, establishing a joint venture for battery lifecycle management, and continuously driving the Division’s growth and success. Overall, his work is focused on fostering business transformation through innovative product development and digitalization initiatives, ensuring a thorough service orientation across the Group’s operations.
Dr. Ewig has held a number of senior leadership positions in family-owned enterprises, serving as CFO and subsequently CEO, as well as in renowned international organizations such as Porsche, where he served as Head of Finance and Corporate Organization until 2012.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from Saarland University and earned his doctorate in Business Informatics at the University of Leipzig.
Dr. Stephan Peters has served as a Member of the Rhenus Group Board of Management since 2009, responsible for Contract Logistics and the Group Commercial activities.
Additionally, he has been Chairman & Founding Member of the Open Logistics Foundation since 2021, member of the board of trustees of Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) and Chairman of the Executive Board of Digital Hub Logistics e.V.
With a strong background in leadership, Dr. Peters brings a wealth of experience to the Board of Management. Under his umbrella, the Sales operations have been developed into a central Group Function, streamlining the Group’s processes internally and ensuring alignment across the organization to coordinate the portfolio offerings to customers. In overseeing the Contract Logistics Division, he plays a key role in shaping strategy while continuing to apply his deep operational insights. Dr. Peters started his career as a consultant for industrial SME and has been with the Rhenus Group since 2000, serving as Managing Director of the Office Systems Business Unit before joining the Board of Management.
A graduate of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, he holds a doctorate in Logistics and a diploma in Business Studies.
Andreas Stoeckli has been a Member of the Rhenus Group Board of Management since 2014, playing a key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction. Since 2024, he has additionally led the Port Logistics Division. In parallel, he serves as CEO of Rhenus Alpina AG, overseeing the Group’s operations in Switzerland and supporting its long-term development.
With nearly three decades of experience in international logistics, he directs the Group’s diverse activities across more than 40 locations and over 70 terminals worldwide. Under his leadership, scalable standards are implemented, innovative solutions are advanced, and sustainable products and services are deployed globally. Through his visionary approach, he strengthens the Rhenus Group’s position as a leading provider in the port logistics sector and is responsible for critical initiatives that drive growth, operational excellence, and efficiency across the organization. In addition, he contributes his expertise to industry associations, shaping the future of Swiss exports as President of swiss export.
Before joining Rhenus Alpina in 2002, Andreas Stoeckli held leadership roles in the finance departments of several SMEs. There, he served as CFO and Head of Quality, Safety, and Security, before being appointed to the Group Management Board.
Andreas Stoeckli holds a Swiss Federal Diploma in Accounting and is a Swiss Certified Expert in Accounting and Controlling.
