- Rhenus will return to the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai from 5–10 November 2026, demonstrating its expertise in providing a full suite of integrated supply chain solutions
- Rhenus will also showcase how its logistics network connects Chinese businesses with growth markets across Asia, Europe, the United States and Latin America
Rhenus will return to CIIE to showcase its latest range of logistics solutions to help businesses scale and tap into overseas growth markets. Its return, for the second year, to China’s first import-themed national-level exhibition comes at a time when China remains central to global trade, while supply chains become increasingly diversified across markets and regions.
In 2025, China’s exports reached RMB 26.99 trillion (US$3.77 trillion), up 6.1% year on year, while its ports handled almost 354 million TEUs of containerized cargo. While the imports reached RMB 18.48 trillion (US$2.58 trillion) with key import categories such as mechanical and electrical products. The momentum has continued into 2026, with UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) continuing to rank China as the world’s leading country for liner shipping connectivity and identifying East Asia as a key engine of global trade1.
At the same time, supply chain trends are changing. Businesses are balancing established operations in China with sourcing and production in other markets, particularly across Southeast Asia. The China+1 trend is reshaping regional supply chains, creating greater demand for logistics networks that can link production centers, suppliers and customers across multiple markets.
For businesses, the challenge is no longer simply moving goods from one point to another. It is managing increasingly complex trade flows across markets and ensuring supply chains can adapt as sourcing, production and demand evolve.
At CIIE 2026, themed “Seamless Logistics for a Connected World” this year, Rhenus will focus on four strategic trade corridors, China–Southeast Asia, EU–China, US–China and China–Latin America, demonstrating how its local expertise and international network can support businesses as they expand and diversify.
Rhenus has invested strategically into growing its presence in the Greater China market with 550+ employees and 16 office locations. Rhenus combines a substantial local presence in Greater China with integrated capabilities across Air & Ocean, NVOCC, Intermodal, Project Logistics, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing, Road Freight, Supply Chain Solutions and specialized services. Its ocean freight network connects customers across more than 4,000 port pairs, supported by worldwide LCL consolidation, controlled door-to-door services and supply-chain optimization capabilities. Rhenus also provides a China–Europe Landbridge solution supported by a container fleet of more than 50,000 TEUs and its own terminal in Duisburg, Germany.
Additionally, Rhenus achieved the No. 1 ranking in Far East inbound flows to Argentina, Colombia, and Paraguay, consolidating its leadership in these key markets. With trade volume between China and Latin America estimated to reach US$700 billion by 20352, Rhenus’ expertise in the Asia-LATAM trade will help Chinese businesses who are looking to grow in the region.
Earlier this year, Rhenus reinforced its position as one of Latin America’s leading logistics companies, consolidating the strategic Asia–LATAM trade lane and delivering record growth throughout the 2024–2025 period. Rhenus also strengthened its performance by leveraging its local presence and operational capabilities to efficiently meet the needs of international trade. This strengthened Rhenus’ position as a key player in the Far East–Latin America corridor, bringing together scale, local expertise and a robust operational network to support its customers’ growth across the region.
“China remains one of the most important markets in global trade and logistics, while its role in global supply chains continues to evolve. As businesses rethink where they source, manufacture and sell, China is becoming increasingly connected with growth markets across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Our return to CIIE reflects our long-term commitment to China and our ambition to
support customers as these trade patterns evolve. By combining our deep understanding of the Chinese market with our international network, we can help businesses navigate changing trade flows, connect with new markets and build reliable supply chains for long-term growth,” said Cliff Xu, Regional Director of Greater China, Rhenus Air & Ocean.
At CIIE 2026, Rhenus will engage customers, prospects and industry stakeholders on how integrated logistics can help them respond to changing trade patterns, access new markets, and build supply chains for the future.
