The Rhenus Group started operations in January at its new logistics centre in Guarromán (Jaén). The logistics service provider adds its seventh facility in Andalusia, which becomes its hub for consolidating export and import traffic from the Andalusian region towards the whole of Europe.
Rhenus expands its network in Andalusia with the opening of a new logistics centre in the municipality of Guarromán (Jaén), a strategic location to serve the markets of the Centre and South of the Peninsula. This will strengthen the group's position as a logistics partner for the export of Andalusian companies.
"Guarromán has become one of the most important logistics hubs in Spain because it is an ideal location to connect with all the provinces of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia, Valencia, and Madrid," explains Francisco Fernández, Regional Manager of Rhenus Road in Andalusia.
The objective of Rhenus is to take advantage of this excellent connectivity to convert this new centre into its international hub in the South. Based at this facility, the company will consolidate all export and import traffic between Andalusia and Europe.
The logistics service provider also appreciates the export potential of Jaén, which beat its record in export volume in 2022. Rhenus identifies a significant growth margin in the internationalisation of companies in this province, especially those dedicated to the oil and automotive sectors, "which require solvent logistics facilities and efficient distribution, considering their large geographical spread," according to Francisco Fernández.
The new centre offers a storage area of more than 1,500 square metres and is fitted out as a customs warehouse. From this facility, Rhenus will provide its entire portfolio of logistics services with a comprehensive range of national and international traffic solutions for groupage, part and full loads; connections with the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, and Morocco; as well as customs management services.
