Electric trucks in use

Since July 2025, Rhenus has been using a fully electric truck for the Duisburg and Venlo route, marking another step toward a lower-emission future.

Electric trucks for flexible transport solutions

The electric truck picks up shipments at Logport in Duisburg and transports general cargo to Venlo. It offers a range of approximately 500 kilometers, allowing it to cover longer distances reliably. Our long-standing partner, Duisburger Logistik Service GmbH (DLS), uses the new charging hub provided by Rhenus in Venlo to charge the 40-ton truck. The vehicle can be used for all general cargo, FTL and LTL shipments.

Electric fleet for last-mile deliveries

Numerous electric vehicles are also already in use in the Rhenus Home Delivery division. Within Germany, they are mainly used for direct delivery to end customers, such as furniture or household appliances. This helps reduce emissions, especially on the last mile, which plays a particularly significant role in overall transport emissions.

For us as a logistics service provider, the daily use of electric trucks in road freight transport is an important milestone, as it allows us to gain important experience in terms of performance, charging times and route planning.
