Rhenus Alpina AG and Switzerland's Interfracht Group announced jointly today that Rhenus will be taking over all areas of the Interfracht Group with effect from 1 January 2020. The transaction involves all legal and operational entities of Interfracht Speditions AG, Interfracht Logistik AG, Interfracht Overseas Ltd and Intertruck GmbH.
The family-owned company Interfracht, which was founded in the 1960s, operates as a global freight and logistics group. The Board of Directors is delighted to have a found a partner in Rhenus Alpina AG who will secure the future of all of Interfracht's divisions. The name Interfracht will be kept until further notice.
The service offerings of Rhenus Alpina AG and the Interfracht Group complement each other perfectly. The Rhenus Group has a strong global presence with a particular stronghold in Asia and provides a comprehensive range of service along the supply chain. This opens up new growth for the Interfracht Group. As a CargoLine member, Interfracht also has access to a highly efficient, European overland transport network, enabling services in Rhenus’s road business in Switzerland to be strengthened and expanded. Moreover, both partners have a similar corporate culture.

Rhenus Alpina AG will retain all 211 employees of the purchased company. “It was important to us to find a solution that offers our employees attractive long-term prospects,” explains Roger Hermkes, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Interfracht Group.
