Whether by road or rail, on rivers, the ocean or in the air - the Rhenus Group develops cross-border transport solutions on all routes.
Backed by over 100 years of tradition and experience, the Rhenus Group is an expert when it comes to the storage of steel, building materials, waste and recyclables, automobiles, coal, chemicals, fertilisers, wood, paper, cellulose and much more. We are constantly investing in state-of-the-art technology and the development of new transshipment possibilities. In addition, we offer all services from A to Z in the transport of bulk goods and general bulk cargo. We will find the perfect solution for each of these types of goods.
Steel coils are stored at one of our Rhenus locations until further transport.
The coils are loaded onto the truck trailer by overhead crane.
A Rhenus employee scans the coils before transporting them further.
A component is transported on the road using a special trailer.
A rotor blade for a wind turbine is waiting to be transported by road.
In Cuxhaven, tower segments are loaded from berth onto a ship using two cranes.
Transition pieces for offshore wind turbines are loaded by crane between ship and port.
Paper rolls are stacked in the warehouse.
The industrial truck grips and moves the paper roll with a round gripper arm.
At our Rheunus ports, coal is loaded directly onto ships using a conveyor crane.
Waste glass is unloaded from a Rhenus truck.
New vehicles are stored at the Cuxport terminal until they are loaded onto the short sea vessel using the RoRo method.
The new vehicles are driven onto the ship individually via a quarter ramp.
Liquid chemicals are stored on pallets in drums or IBC containers.
We store chemicals and hazardous goods in specially certified and equipped halls.
Round wood is loaded onto the truck with the trailer's own crane.
An employee checks the logs before transport.
Waste wood from the side cut of the sawn tree trunks is chopped up and reused either materially or thermally.
This product is mainly processed into compost and for earthworks. It is also used to mix in bark mulch and potting soil.
These products arise, among other things, when pallet-woods are cut to size and must be pre-screened for further processing. Then these chips are used in the chipboard industry, pellet industry, as bedding or for other purposes.
Grain is stored and transshipped at the Rhenus port, protected from the weather.
Fertilisers are packaged at our terminals and loaded onto a truck.
Fertilizers are stowed dry and securely in the Rhenus warehouse until they are transported further.
Rhenus transports waste, valuable and recycled materials by inland waterway, rail and truck.
At a number of locations, we professionally store your recyclables until they can be brought to their place of use in a multimodal way.
Rhenus also handles and loads scrap metal using the appropriate equipment.
Recyclable materials such as PET are packed into manageable units, such as bales, and can thus be stored and transported efficiently.
Bulk materials such as sand, gravel and cement are stored and loaded at our locations and transported from there to their place of use worldwide.
At many of our locations - such as the Rhenus ports - bulk materials such as sand and gravel can be stored separately outdoors. This enables barrier-free transhipment to the appropriate means of transport.
