With quality there are no daily tasks, it’s a never-ending cycle aimed at continuous improvement of services and processes by means of incremental and breakthrough improvements.

Our client base as a company has changed; before quality was more internal monitoring of our QMS, but now we have widened our focus to client audits. Assisting in leading client audits and playing an integral part in compliance and client requirements.

You learn to be flexible and adapt to new environments. Being able to learn the whole business structure and the interaction between different departments makes every day an exciting one. The ever-changing environment I find myself in has allowed me to grow during the 2 years I have been with the company. Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.

The project would have to be successfully implementing our QMS at our costal branches and getting certification for the branches. Conducting internal induction/training to a room full of experienced colleagues was not a walk in the park, but the challenge made me fearless and a confident communicator. It was a challenge being thrown into the deep blue ocean of monitoring and evaluating the QMS, but it has shaped me to be an integral part of the company. 

 

After work is more work. I am currently studying towards my honour’s degree in Quality Management, so with any spare time I am studying and meeting assignment deadlines. But occasionally I have a cheat day and enjoy the outdoors.
