No question left open: Our candidate guide

How does the application process work at Rhenus? What are the most important tips for your application? What applies to pupils? What should students and graduates keep in mind? We have the answers to all these questions in store for you here – of course you can also contact us personally at any time. In any case, we would be happy to help you and welcome you soon.

The recruitment process

Step by step to the Rhenus Group

Step 1

Job search

Have you already found the job that suits you in our job board? Then you can go straight to Step 2. You don’t see a suitable vacancy at the moment? With our job newsletter, you always have the latest information.

Step 2

Online application

Your documents will reach us quickly and directly via our online application form; depending on the position, a cover letter may be required. In any case, we are eager to see your CV and references – for us, the best way to make a good first impression.

Step 3

Application screening

Our HR team and the responsible department will take a close look at your application as soon as possible. We will do our best to give you feedback within two weeks. With your agreement, we would also be happy to forward the documents to other business units if the selected position does not work out.

Step 4

Application process

Depending on the position, there are various ways of finding out if we are a good match for each other. In most cases, we rely on a personal interview, on a level playing field, of course. Online tests, assessment centres or work on a trial basis may also be possible. In the end, the best decision is taken for both sides.

Step 5

A warm welcome

With your commitment, you are a part of the Rhenus Group right away – we are already eager to shape the logistics of the future together with you.

Step 6

Onboarding

To ensure that your start is a complete success, we will familiarise you with everything you need to know about Rhenus and your assignment with us. Your experienced colleagues will guide you every step of the way, and together you will easily master each of your new tasks.

FAQ: Your application

You can start your online application by simply clicking on the “Apply now” button in the relevant job advertisement. You will need a maximum of 10 minutes to add your cover letter and CV. This is the best way to send us your application – but you can also send it by post. In this case, it is important that you address your application to the specific company division or location as well as to the contact person from the job advertisement.

Your application should include a letter of motivation, your CV and all school reports and work references relevant to the position. This way you can let us know why you would like to start with us and what experience you have already gained so far. For some positions, a short application is also possible; we will inform you about this option via the application form.

In short: yes! If several of the advertised positions in our business fields match your talents and ambitions, feel free to apply more than once. This has no influence on the screening and assessment of your documents.

Would you like to be informed as soon as exciting new opportunities are announced? Subscribe to your very own personal job newsletter, which will keep you updated every week about how and where you can strengthen us.

FAQ: For pupils

Yes, you can – during the holidays or as part of your career orientation. Simply send us an online application in which you tell us which of our business fields you find exciting. If we have a location near you, you can of course knock on our door and we will be happy to tell you about your options.

Not an easy question – but we’d be happy to help you. The best thing to do is to take a look at the page for pupils here on the website. There we have listed the opportunities you can take advantage of here with us in logistics, IT or in the commercial sector – in the form of an apprenticeship or a dual study programme. Next, take a look at our job board, where you will find all current job advertisements and the right contact person for all further questions.

The allocation of apprenticeship and dual study places begins about one year before the respective start date – so it’s worth having a look early on. Please note: you can apply for any positions still advertised in our job exchange – advertisements are not removed until the places have been filled.

We actively train for our future; after all, we want to keep making big things happen for a long time to come. That’s why we are always happy when apprentices and graduates continue to enrich our team even after they have finished the programme. In short: if you are committed and passionate about what you do, your chances are excellent.

On the page for pupils, you will find a lot more input about our apprenticeships and dual study programmes. You can also follow what our apprentices experience and do on Instagram (@rhenus_karriere | #Chancenlogistiker), including exciting insights into our working world.

It is important for us to get to know you personally, not just on the basis of your application. At the same time, we would like to give you the chance to take a closer look at us as a training company. The actual selection process for training or studying is slightly different in each business field. As a general rule, we invite you to a (telephone) interview, and often there are also applicant days or small case-based exercises. Either way, you can rest assured: we understand that you are nervous in these situations – together we’ll pull through, we promise you.

FAQ: For students & graduates

Yes, as a registered student you can do an internship with us and also write a practical thesis – we would be happy to help you. You can find all the information here on the page for students.

That’s possible – we would be happy to give you the chance to gain valuable practical experience during your studies. In concrete terms, you can work for us for 20 hours a week, with plenty of input for your wealth of experience. You can find all further information on our page for students and all current job advertisements in our job board.

Yes, we have this follow-up option for you. After your studies, you can, for example, get started in one of our central “Step forward!” programmes. In addition, there are subject-specific programmes with different logistical focuses in our business units. You can find all the details on our page about your entry opportunities.

This varies depending on the programme – but as a rule, the selection process is multistage. In addition to an interview, we usually invite you to online tests or an assessment centre. This is the best chance for you and for us to get to know each other – as a possible reinforcement for the team or as your first employer after graduation.

We would be happy to show you this on our social media channels. Take a look, there are lots of surprising insights into the working worlds of your future colleagues.
