This is a multi-faceted area of responsibility in which there is a lot for you to discover as a trainee over the period of 18 months, and you decide for yourself which projects and stations you would like to work on.

Through an optional assignment abroad, you can broaden your horizons and gain valuable experience in other cultures as part of the trainee programme.

These could be your trainee stations

Station: Sales coordination

  • Coordination and networking of the business units and the sales leadership team in all sales-related topics.
  • Responsibility for a project to prepare the lead management reporting.
  • Organisation of comprehensive sales & marketing events such as the Rhenus Sales Conference.

Station: Social Selling

  • Development of the social selling approach and joint implementation of sales measures on social media.
  • Collaboration on lead management campaigns via social media.
  • Conception and implementation of social selling trainings.
  • Taking on further project topics such as the "Corporate Influencer" programme.

Station: Digital Sales

  • Identification and analysis of different target groups, channels and touchpoints.
  • Focus on the areas of lead management and customer journeys.
  • Participation in the strategic acquisition of new customers and conception and optimisation of the corresponding customer journeys.

Station: Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Support in the project to introduce a new CRM system and take over the project coordination.
  • Carrying out a benchmark analysis of possible CRM systems.
  • Taking over project controlling and tracking the progress of the project.
  • Support in the design and development of workshops.

Station: Vertical Management

  • Analysis of current trends and identification of product potential.
  • Preparation of target-oriented market and competition analyses and derivation of strategic recommendations for action.
  • Definition of a target-oriented lead management process.
  • Conception of marketing campaigns.

Station: Operational sales

  • Conducting initial meetings including preparation and follow-up of appointments and the drafting of proposals.
  • Optimising your own customer approach by establishing initial contact with potential customers.
  • Getting to know sales controlling and creating reports.

Key Account Management

  • You want to work close to the customer? Then start as a (Junior) Key Account Manager and act as the main contact for key accounts, including negotiating prices.

  • You will advise on our logistics services, routinely select products and services and continuously develop customer relationships. 


Vertical Management

  • Would you like to be the interface between sales and marketing? Then Vertical Management is the right place for you.

  • You create target-oriented market and competition analyses, identify trends and develop new product potential. 




Digital Sales

  • Are you at home in the digital world? Then focus on the topic of lead generation.

  • You will acquire new customers via individual digital channels and continuously develop the customer journey for different target groups and along all touchpoints.
