Job Description

What you can expect

  • Lead the country business with full P&L responsibility, ensuring profitable and sustainable growth across all services and divisions.
  • Drive, communicate, and execute the local business strategy fully aligned with the Rhenus Global and Regional strategy, working closely with all relevant Functions (Air, Ocean, Road, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure seamless execution.
  • Actively identify and pursue growth opportunities, expanding market presence and developing new commercial and operational initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, authorities, and partners, and support strategic sales activities including major customer visits and tenders.
  • Maintain a regular presence across all local sites (minimum monthly visits) to support teams, strengthen cooperation, and monitor performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, service excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor key KPIs, SLAs, and financial performance, collaborating with Finance and Regional Leadership on budgets, forecasts, and investment decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the senior leadership team, fostering a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, empowerment, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies, safeguarding risk management and business continuity.

What you bring

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Proven P&L responsibility at country or multi-site level.
  • Strong leadership experience managing senior teams and multiple business lines.
  • Deep knowledge of local Croatian market conditions and operational frameworks.
  • Strong financial knowledge, analytical mindset, and decision-making capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and business-driven leadership style.
  • Fluency in English and Croatian language.
