What you can expect

We are recruiting a Transport Administrator / Operator for our site in Corby. The role will report to the Transport Manager and work closely with the Transport and Warehouse teams, to plan, direct and control the activities of the transport fleet including sub-contractors to optimise cost-effectiveness and use of resources. The Transport Department prides itself in providing a high-quality service to both internal and external customers.

Main Duties:

  • Fully utilise Rhenus Logistics operating systems and network to the benefit of the operation.

  • Plan volumes meeting the operational and network requirements.

  • Oversee the operations to accommodate required volumes.

  • Work with management and the transport team to ensure that any service delivery concerns or failures are identified and addressed as most appropriate.

  • Understand customer operational requirements and ensure that the correct procedures are followed to meet these, exceeding expectations wherever possible.

  • Engage with the customers as appropriate and as required to ensure maximum operational satisfaction and performance.

  • Ensure consistently effective communication with management and the transport team in all matters, to promote a successful operation.

  • Ensure that all transport documentation is managed and stored in an accurate, orderly and legally compliant manner.

  • Assist in the successful control of vehicle maintenance and service requirements, ensuring a consistently road-worthy fleet.

  • Seek to understand and address operational concerns within the driver fleet and wherever possible.

  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all legislation that is relevant to the transport industry and work in accordance with this.

  • Understand the Operating Licence obligations.

  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

  • Experience in a similar role within the Transport and Pallet network industry would be an advantage.
