  • Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming materials, verify their quantity and quality against purchase orders or delivery documents. Inspect materials for damages, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Warehouse Organization: Organize and arrange materials in designated storage areas to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access. Keep the warehouse clean and tidy, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Properly handle hazardous materials and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on material handling equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team or supervisor.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other warehouse team members, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and shippers, to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.

  • Quality and Accuracy: Maintain a high level of accuracy in all material handling processes, reducing errors and ensuring the right materials are delivered to the right locations.
  • The above list of duties is not an exhaustive list; other duties may logically be assigned.

What you bring

Skills, Education, and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a material handler or similar warehouse position is advantageous but not always required, as some companies may offer on-the-job training.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Valid certification for operating such equipment may be necessary depending on the company and jurisdiction.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices related to material handling in a warehouse setting.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects or materials.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with other team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Warehouse workers may be required to lift and carry heavy objects regularly. The ability to lift, push, and pull heavy boxes, packages, or materials is essential. Employers may specify weight limits, and employees should be capable of lifting objects within those limits.
  • Standing and Walking: Warehouse employees often spend extended periods on their feet, walking and moving around the warehouse. Stamina and endurance are important to keep up with the physical demands of the job.
  • Bending and Stooping: Workers may need to bend, stoop, or crouch to pick up items from lower shelves or to organize inventory. Flexibility and agility are essential for these movements.
  • Repetitive Motions: Some warehouse tasks involve repetitive motions, such as scanning barcodes, packing items, or using hand tools. Employees should be able to perform these tasks without experiencing excessive strain or fatigue.
  • Manual Dexterity: Warehouse employees may need good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like picking and packing orders, handling small items, or using tools and equipment.
  • Operating Material Handling Equipment: Depending on the warehouse, employees may be required to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. This may involve specific training and certification.
  • Physical Fitness: Overall physical fitness is important for warehouse employees. This includes cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. Regular exercise can help employees maintain their physical well-being and reduce the risk of injuries.
