Press Release

Rhenus extends its ISO 9001 and 14001 certification

Following a successful re-certification audit at its Gretz site in the Paris region, Rhenus has extended the validity of its certification Group-wide. Obtained last month with no non-conformities, the certificates cover the quality and environmental management systems of the warehouse and support services.

With strong values with regard to integrity and customer service, the Rhenus Group places great importance on the certification of its management processes. As part of its corporate social responsibility approach, it is committed to aligning its activities with the seven fundamental principles of ISO 26000. The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications relating to quality and the environment are awarded to all of the Group’s sites, following audits carried out each year at a number of selected sites.

In France, most Rhenus warehouses are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and AEO Full (Customs and Security) approved. Certain sites have also obtained other certifications, such as ISO 22000 for food warehouses, and ISO 13485 for pharmaceutical products and medical devices. Regarding air transport, agencies are also approved by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Selected for the re-certification audit of a French site this year, the 30,000 square metres warehouse located in Gretz-Armainvilliers in the Paris region is a multi-client facility dedicated to manufacturers and distributors in the construction, telephony, and chemicals sectors.

In recent years, major investments have been made at the Gretz site to help protect the environment. Heating systems have been replaced by condensing boilers that reduce and monitor electricity consumption in real time. One hundred percent of lighting is now LED. The installation of photovoltaic panels on rooftops is also under consideration.

“All our physical and intangible investments, both in terms of certification and equipment for buildings and logistics operations, aim to meet the CSR objectives of the Rhenus Group, which has committed to carbon neutrality by 2045, as well as objectives set specifically for France. Our teams are particularly aware of this and are therefore fully committed to the implementation of the Rhenus Group’s strategy”, stated Laurent Schuster, CEO of Rhenus Logistics France.
