Podcast episode 11: Robotic Process Automation

Software robots are increasingly handling repetitive work processes, which follow particular rules – and they ensure that humans and machines are able to successfully cooperate in logistics too. There are many reasons for the growing use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA): cutting costs, increasing quality or easing the pressure on employees are just some of them. The current shortage of skilled workers is also contributing to the fact that many companies are making use of software robots, even large logistics specialists like the Rhenus Group, for example.

Marie-Louise Heidbrink, the Head of Robotic Process Automation at Rhenus Office Systems and the Managing Director of auto.mates, talks about automation and simplifying work processes in the new episode of “Logistics People Talk”, the Rhenus Group’s corporate podcast. She explains which tasks software robots can take over within the logistics sector and why RPA is playing a major role in customs clearance too, for instance. She also reveals why RPA has been increasingly used during the last few years and how the technology will develop in future.
