In order to professionalise its logistics, Dräger France – the French subsidiary of the German group Dräger, one of the global leaders in medical and safety technologies – chose to call on an external service provider recognised for its expertise in pharmaceutical products and medical devices. This is how Rhenus came to make part of the multi-client warehouse of its pharma hub, located in the port of Strasbourg, available to Dräger France. Rhenus is responsible for storing and preparing orders there. At the start, the activity focused on the safety range, and with the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, the Dräger subsidiary in France chose to also entrust Rhenus with managing FFP2/FFP3 masks, respirators and other personal protection products.
"We wanted to improve the quality of our logistics service by outsourcing the storage and order preparation. Due to our highly varied range of products, some of them medical devices destined for hospitals, we chose a service provider approved as a 'pharmaceutical product depository'. Its ISO18295 certification also provides a guarantee of reliability in managing our commercial relations and contributes to better traceability. Moreover, Dräger and Rhenus share similar company cultures common to German family businesses," concludes Olivier Pesez, Purchasing & Logistics Manager at Dräger France.
Rhenus' pharma hub in Strasbourg comprises three multi-client warehouses with a total surface area of nearly 50,000 m².
