Commitment to the energy transition: Cuxport is committed to AquaVentus Initiative

The AquaVentus Initiative was founded in 2020 with the goal of installing ten gigawatt-capacity offshore wind turbines in the North Sea by 2035. The initiative now brings together 32 leading international companies, organisations and research institutes that want to use their combined know-how to produce one million tonnes of green hydrogen per year on the high seas and bring it to land.

Cuxport is also one of the members. For the port logistics company, participation in the initiative is above all a commitment to the energy transition. The company's core competencies include the development, realisation and coordination of complex logistics concepts for the wind energy industry. Furthermore, Cuxport is also available as a service port for maintenance, repair and installations - an important know-how for AquaVentus. "Cuxport has many years of experience in the development, realisation and coordination of complex logistics concepts for renewable energies. This commitment to the energy turnaround was our drive to participate in AquaVentus. As a partner of the wind energy industry, we are happy to make our capacities and know-how available to the other members," says Michael de Reese, Managing Director of Cuxport about the reasons for membership.
