Press Release

Closing: Rhenus Warehousing Solutions takes over the Danish third-party logistics specialist, DKI

Rhenus Warehousing Solutions has taken over the Danish company, DKI Logistics A/S, and its warehouse investment firm, DKI Automatic A/S, (jointly referred to as “DKI”). Now that all the formalities have been resolved, DKI is officially part of the Rhenus Group.

Following the announcement of the agreement to take over the Danish company, DKI, in August, the responsible managers finally signed the contract last week. The previous CEO, Preben Borregaard, is leaving the company with immediate effect. René Møller Klausen, who has been COO at DKI up to now, is replacing him as CEO. The official farewell celebration for Borregaard and the inaugural event to mark the upcoming cooperation with Rhenus were held during the same week. “Our values are a perfect match. Being part of the Rhenus Group offers our company unprecedented opportunities, which we’ve not enjoyed in the past,” says René Møller Klausen, explaining his perspective.

The third-party logistics specialist, DKI, specialises in complete warehousing and supply chain solutions that provide tailor-made value-added services. The intralogistics services offered at its seven warehouses are highly automated. By incorporating DKI within the Rhenus Group, the customers in Denmark will now benefit from the entire range of services provided by the Rhenus Group, in addition to what DKI is able to offer them. They not only include warehouse services at warehouse space measuring 3.5 million square metres, but also a broad range of other packages – for example, different kinds of overland transport options and the air & ocean freight network, which spans the globe.

Thanks to the merger of their extensive service portfolios, Rhenus Warehousing Solutions and DKI can together offer their customers high-quality, scalable solutions. “Organising our market entry to the Nordic countries together with DKI is therefore the logical step. We’d like to heartily welcome all the customers, employees and partners of DKI to the Rhenus family,” says Andreas Plikat, the General  Manager Rhenus Warehousing Solutions, explaining the development. The new relationship with DKI will not only expand the European network of Rhenus  Warehousing Solutions in geographical terms, but also involve a greater emphasis on handling goods in the FMCG and health care sectors.
