Dangerous goods

The Rhenus Group ensures proper handling and transport of hazardous cargo (including the handling and transport of LQs – limited quantities). Special information and documents may be required to plan and organise the shipment of hazardous cargo. Our specialists are ready to provide quality service for almost any category of hazardous cargo to be handled and/or shipped.

Cross-border transport

The Rhenus Group ensures proper customs clearance in compliance with local customs regulations based on your individual requirements. Either with each Rhenus office on its own or via a subcontracted third party, we help you import and export your goods. In Russia, we have our own customs broker licence and terminal on the border between Russia and Belarus.

With our local presence in St Petersburg, Novorossiysk and Vladivostok, we can assist you in organising transit formalities for your cargo from port of arrival to your preferred inland customs clearance point. We can open own transit declarations by using our in-house customs clearance licence.

Safety

The Rhenus Group offers tailor-made transport insurance solutions that protect the monetary value of your cargo against all risks of physical loss or damage from any external cause during shipping, whether by land, sea or air. Manage the financial impact of loss or damage efficiently. Not every transportation route offers the same level of security; not every item in transit is equally sensitive to damage. Be on the safe side with the insurance services of Rhenus.

With our flexible warehouse solutions, you will benefit from modern and secured indoor and outdoor storage facilities at port locations worldwide. Our highly qualified staff are capable of handling all types of cargo. We use modern equipment to ensure the safe handling of your goods. For each size and duration, the Rhenus Group offers you storage availabilities for several days directly at your local Rhenus branch close to the seaport. Even longer-term storage can be facilitated through our in-house contract logistics specialists.

In case you are not yet ready to receive your cargo, shipping containers can be used as temporary storage facilities – either at the port of entry or exit or even at the final destination. Such storage can be managed with our own container fleet, which subsequently places greater leeway and competitive rental costs at your disposal.

The Rhenus Group can offer container repair services at various depot facilities in Europe and Asia. Upon receipt of your approval, all containers are professionally repaired according to international standards and as per your requirements.
