Rhenus as an employer is special for me because I know I am a part of something greater. To know that I have connections on an international scale and am able to play a role in helping this company perform gives me a real sense of purpose, and I wake up for this daily.
With regards to my job, I love it because it allows me to apply theoretical employment law knowledge gained from my studies to practical work situations and drive solutions for complex ER issues.

The company recently engaged in a rightsizing project and I identified that we did not have a redundancy selection matrix in place as required by law. Therefore, I proceeded to design a matrix, providing objective criteria and designing a scoring process for the management team to use. We went through the process without any challenges to the scoring from the employees affected and I put this down to the use of a truly objective system that I had designed for the business.

Be a solutions-driven person. When you spot an issue, you should always aim to have a proposal for solving said issue before presenting this to senior management. It may not always be possible or within your remit to provide a solution without further collaboration, but you should always try because this can alleviate pressure from your manager and showcases your own value.

I like keeping fit and active so after work most days I go to the gym, and I also play for a local football team so training sessions are always a must. When I am not engaged in those activities, I spend time with friends, family and my girlfriend, with the latter consuming most of my time.
