What you can expect
Main Activities
Support Rhenus BY WMS projects with development of integrations and extensions within the IT/WMS · policies of Rhenus (e.g. change policy and BY Core). These include support of implementation project teams with development opportunities, feedback and review of design specifications and “first time right” delivery of solutions · Same for other similar business projects e.g. mechanization and robotization projects and process improvements and (customer) change requests · Continuous improvements of developed solutions based on design reviews and problem management (“feedbacks from the field”) · Analyze and resolve reported technical incidents and initiate actions to prevent re-occurrence (problem management) · Support Go Live migration and hand-over to the support organization · Contribute to the development of Rhenus BY WMS Core by modularization and generalization (re-usability, parameterization). · Develop and maintain the development framework for BY WMS Core and the “downstream” operational installations, for version management, deployments (“product architecture”) and certification · Define, demand and maintain requirements for the hosting infrastructure of BY WMS both in Rhenus data centers as well as cloud providers (IAAS). Monitor the BY WMS applications and implement patches and hygiene measures · Drive technical innovations such as automated deployment across the development street, automated testing and robotization · Document solutions and ways-of-working · Reporting and consultancy tasks on request of IT Management
What you bring
Skills & Education & Work Experience / Requirements
· University or higher professional education degree and working and thinking level in relevant area, such as industrial engineering, supply chain management or information technology. · >2 years of experience as developer in WMS implementation projects. · Proven experience in a professional and complex development environment for an international organization and with deployment of software solutions and templates to a distributed network of installations. · Profound knowledge of the technical characteristics of Blue Yonder WMS (or a similar top end WMS solution such as Manhattan, SAP, ..). BY certification is a plus. · Technical skills and knowledge area’s (related to BY WMS): o Windows OS, Script languages (e.g. Python, Perl, Powershell), Java/J2EE, RESTful Webservices, API’s (JSON/XML), Testing API endpoints (Postman), PLSQL, SQL and databases (structure and concepts), MS SQL server (including performance analysis) o Application integrations (mapping and communication structures) related to WMS such as ERP, WCS, CRM and data solutions (MS Power) o Wider general knowledge of the technical stack of WMS, client server technology, middleware technology · Assertiveness to tune requirements within teams and drive to optimal solutions within the scope of a project · Ability to work effectively with large business and IT teams and to “run with the ideas of others” · Skilled communicator to all organizational levels in business and IT, from warehouse floor to boardroom
