WHAT WILL CHANGE?

WHAT WILL CHANGE?

From 1st of January 2021 the entry and exit of goods between the European Union and the United Kingdom will no longer be considered as intra-community operations and will be treated as imports or exports, like any other country outside the European Union. This treatment includes requirements, such as customs declarations and customs inspections and, until agreement is reached, the payment of import or export duties and other charges.

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE FOR BREXIT?

We recommend authorising Rhenus to act as your direct representative.

The companies of the European Union doing business with the United Kingdom will need an EORI number. The EORI number will be required for any customs declaration, whether for import or export.

If you don’t have already an EORI number, apply for one. We will be pleased to help you!

To enable us to complete a declaration on your behalf, a commercial invoice must be provided, accompanied by the respective authorisations or certificates, as well as the packing list.

These values are used to calculate VAT, duty and liability. They must be

included in your commercial invoice to enable us to process the customs declaration.
