WHAT WILL CHANGE?

WHAT WILL CHANGE?

From 1st of January 2021 the entry and exit of goods between the European Union and the United Kingdom will no longer be considered as intra-community operations and will be treated as imports or exports, like any other country outside the European Union.

This treatment includes requirements, such as customs declarations and customs inspections and, until agreement is reached, the payment of import or export duties and other charges.

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE FOR BREXIT?

We recommend authorising Rhenus to act as your direct representative.

Access to the authorisation

The companies of the European Union doing business with the United Kingdom will need an EORI number. The EORI number will be required for any customs declaration, whether for import or export.

How do I apply for an EORI number?

You must connect to douane.gouv.fr or via the Soprano platform or complete the cerfa 13930 form.

To enable us to complete a declaration on your behalf, a commercial invoice must be provided, accompanied by the respective authorisations or certificates, as well as the packing list.

Here is an example of a commercial invoice

These values are used for the purposes of trade statistics and to calculate VAT and customs duties and must be included in your commercial invoice forto process the customs declaration. Both importers and exporters must be aware of the data that are part of the customs declaration.
